Gasoline Grill
For us there are only a few instances that we would go out of way to try a cheeseburger. That is if Phil Rosenthal, Mark Wiens and countless others sources have consistently mentioned Gasoline Grill’s burger as one of the best in the world. Owner Klaus Wittrup has elevated the American classic to a level that we thought was never possible. Since opening in 2016, their commitment to sustainability and high quality can be seen and tasted in all their food. Today all nine locations grind their own meat and make just enough patties for the day, often selling out well before their closing time.
As you see in the pictures, the burger is a sight of beauty. The glistening toasted bun really holds up to the perfectly juicy, medium rare beef patty. Topped with fresh tomato, lettuce, red onion and pickles, along with their Gasoline Grill sauce and (added) cheddar cheese, it is truly one of the most outstanding sandwiches worth traveling for. No additional seasoning required!
At 80 Danish kroner or 13 US dollars, the price of this burger may appear steep but bear in mind the cost of living is quite high in the nordic countries. In fact, it may be one of the most affordable options when eating out in Copenhagen. Skip the $5.50 Big Mac and head to the original Gasoline Grill (still located at a gas station) to taste the new gold standard of cheeseburgers.
